Once you've defeated Leyndell Royal Capital, you may visit the Grand Lift of Rold in Elden Ring. You believe that you will have little trouble getting inside the Erdtree in the court now that Morgott the Omen King has been vanquished. But you are not permitted to go through. Melina informs you that you must go farther to the Forgotten Lands and the Mountaintop of the Giants after you take a break at a Site of Grace.
If you haven't seen the Grand Lift of Rold yet, here's the summary:
- From the East Capital Rampart, ride the lift down and exit the building. Turn left and follow the road to the east. It should lead you outside the gate where dozens of mobs are waiting.
- Head up the steps and continue onward until you’re at the Capital Outskirts. When you reach the large building, you have two options:
- One path takes you to the Divine Tower of Leyndell where you can activate Morgott’s Great Rune, but there’s also a tough fight here.
- The other takes you to the Forgotten Lands, which is our main goal.
The fog in the Forgotten Lands makes navigation difficult. However, if you stick to the path and consult your map often, you ought to soon come to the Grand Lift of Rold. We now have two options:
- Normally, the Grand Lift of Rold in Elden Ring will only take you to the Mountaintop of Giants using a medallion given to you by Melina.
- But, there’s another path that we can unlock, and that’s what we’ll discuss here.
I advise moving on as you've already reached the Grand Lift of Rold in Elden Ring. After passing over many mountain passes and highways, you will reach Castle Sol.
You will battle Commander Niall there. Having a few troops as backup makes him a formidable guy. Although the dual-wielding soldier is rather hostile, you can block his attacks. Additionally, the protected man won't be very dangerous. But, you're going to be in a lot of pain if they all corner you.
Commander Niall will get a few new skills after eliminating the two troops, one of which is the Lightning Stomp. It's important to evade this devastating strike just before it lands.
You may get the Veteran's Prosthesis weapon by defeating Commander Niall.
Better yet, you may make your way to the battlements. You will encounter a ghost there that has the Haligtree Secret Medallion on the left.

Fortunately, I wasn't locked out or anything.Returning to the Rold Grand Lift in Elden RingYou may return to the Grand Lift of Rold after finding both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion in Elden Ring. Press "1" or "2" while standing in front of the status to switch the conversation choice. It should state that the Haligtree Secret Medallion is an alternative that you may utilize. The first time you do this, the tablet and statues should glow green instead of red.
Following the film, you'll enter a gloomy castle. If you'd like, you may battle enemies or gather treasure. You will be enveloped in a dense mist when you go outdoors. Make sure you're still following the route by frequently checking the map.
You will eventually come across the map stele. If you continue north, you'll get to the next stop, which is Haligtree in Miquella. You must solve the riddle at Ordina Lithurgical Town. An alternative route is to go west, where a teleporter will take you to Mohgwyn Palace.
