Elden Ring: Guide to attribute respec and larval tears

You will inevitably run into a few issues with your stat line in Elden Ring, regardless of which class you decided to start with. Perhaps you wasted points on the incorrect stat, or you would need to spend more on something else in order to equip your preferred weaponry. Fortunately, there is a technique to correct such errors or to just try a new build. This is our guide to locate Larval Tears in Elden Ring so you may reset your attributes or respec.

How to locate Larval Tears to reset or respec your qualities

There isn't a default way to respec or reset your characteristics in Elden Ring. Rather, you will have to journey to Liurnia of the Lakes in order to fight Renalla Queen of the Full Moon (who will be a nightmare for pure spellcasters) and open the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

In contrast, the Great Rune of Godrick the Grafted necessitates activation. Rennala's Great Rune already adds a function, much like a product key. After she's defeated, you may use this to respec your stats in Elden Ring by speaking with her. She is even just behind the Raya Lucaria Grand Library, a Site of Grace, which allows you to easily return to her quarters whenever necessary.

Take note: You will be able to allocate the total attribute points you have accumulated since creating your character when you respec your attribute points in Elden Ring. The restrictions include that you must allocate the maximum amount of points dependent on your level and that your stats cannot be lower than the default value (for example, if a class had 8 Dexterity when the character was created, you cannot decrease it to 7 Dexterity).

The respec isn't completely free, however, since we still need to locate a few really uncommon goods. In Elden Ring, these larval tears serve as a kind of coinage and are often dropped by certain mobs—those that change into other monsters that must be slain once again. In other situations, they could only be located in a certain area. I'll go into depth about the Larval Tears I've found below.

Agheel Lake South: Limgrave

You'll most likely come into a spot in Agheel Lake South where a hillside is lined with several enormous tombstones. In fact, it's not too far from where we would do the Troll Carriage rune farming. Regarding the location of our meeting with Sorceress Sellen .There are a few zombies skulking about in this area. One is by himself, and you wouldn't think twice about it until you kill him, at which point he transforms into a terrifying bear. This may be quite difficult if you're not at a high level. But this little contact becomes insignificant much later. To get a Larval Tear in Elden Ring, remove the beast.Liurnia of the Lakes: Albinaurics VillageFrom the buried village, there should be a towering rock structure to the south. I still don't know how to get to the summit. But when you get closer to that landmark, you'll see that the bottom is really one big, open space. Look for a sloping road that goes to the Village of the Albinaurics (which contains a campfire) by checking the rock wall.Proceed over the adjacent wooden bridge from the bonfire/Site of Grace. A larval tear is present in this region, right in the open.Lake Liurnia: SwamplandThis one is about a different kind of shifting beast. Look for a domed gazebo directly southeast of Rose Church in Liurnia of the Lakes. There's a lone lobster or crayfish near that building, but I'm not really sure since I'm allergic to crustaceans. Be wary of its attacks, particularly its quick-casting Bubble Beam.It will change into a Grafted Scion after you kill it. You can aim it while galloping in a circle since you're mounted. When it's most vulnerable, attack after baiting it into launching a jump attack. This adversary will drop another Larval Tear if you kill it.Siofra River Well: MistwoodSiofra River Well contains the third larval tear that I discovered in the Elden Ring (many thanks to Keith Dwayne Mitchell for the tip). The well is located next to the Minor Erdtree in Mistwood. You'll discover it's a huge subterranean region (you may even utilize your horse) when you take the elevator down. Not every item and secret that may be found here will be covered by us. We'll simply concentrate on locating the Abandoned Merchant NPC instead. When you reach the location, follow the wall on the left-hand side to reach him. Next, take the elevator to another area that is open and has trees, pillars, and ruins. The objective is to go north until you come across a platform that is still being built. Make sure to tag the Worshippers' Woods Site of Grace before ascending it, just in case anything goes wrong and you have to restart.Anyway, use the ladders to ascend that building. Once you reach the top, descend along a ledge that leads to the opposite building. You will ultimately follow it to a cavern where the NPC is located.Among the things he has are Stoneshard Keys, Dwelling Arrows, Nascent Butterflies, and of course, the Larval Tear. There is only one available for purchase, and it costs 3,000 runes.Nokron Eternal City: Several sitesUpon defeating Starscourge Radahn in Caelid, you will be able to enter Nokron Eternal City. Interestingly, this hidden spot is located in Mistwood as well and has some connection to the previously described Siofra River Well. Exploring this area, I have found no less than five Larval Tears:

  • When you reach the first Site of Grace, turn right at the courtyard and enter the church.
  • Next, follow the main path leading down. There’s one in a gazebo in front of the Mimic Tear boss’ arena.
  • The Mimic Tear boss drops two of these when it dies.
  • As you continue to explore, you’ll come across a sub-zone called Night’s Sacred Ground. Progress further until you reach a chapel with a ball trap. Run to the exit and let the ball smash into the wall. You can destroy it to pick up a Larval Tear.
Take note: As I find more of these crucial things, I'll make sure to update our Elden Ring Larval Tear and respec guide.
