It goes without saying that Starfield demands a strong gaming PC. The game will severely limit your FPS even with the newest hardware and the greatest graphical settings. However, Nvidia users may now expect PC optimizations as the most recent game drivers enhance Starfield. performance on computers with Resizable BAR support by a narrow margin.
Described in a blog post today, Nvidia representative Andrew Burnes provided information on the most recent driver and an update on Starfield's PC performance. According to Burnes, Resizable BAR is now enabled by both the most recent driver, 537.34, and the earlier driver, 537.17, because of an over-the-air update that eliminates the need for a manual download. According to Nvidia's tests using GPUs from the RTX 40 Series, the upgrade improves performance by around 5% on average. Fortunately, if the other hardware in their PC allows it, users of RTX 30 Series may also enjoy a performance boost.

Starfield Computer performance: Who is currently improving what?
Although Todd Howard, the head of Bethesda Studio, loves to believe that Starfield is PC optimized, it's clearly evident that Nvidia and Intel hardware performance may be improved. Thanks to early driver improvements and comparable technologies like AMD's own version of Resizable BAR, Smart Access Memory, consumers already see some speed benefits.

Considering that Starfield is an AMD-sponsored game that was mainly created for console hardware with AMD support, this is not surprising. However, since Intel still has a substantial lead in the CPU industry and Nvidia controls the majority of the graphics business, this poses a big issue for PC consumers. At the very least, these Nvidia drivers are the first step.
Having played Starfield during its pre-release phase, I found it disappointing that despite many game and driver upgrades, the framerates weren't much higher before launch. A week after schedule, even this Nvidia driver providing a 5% increase arrives. It's obvious that more optimizations—whether carried out by Bethesda, Nvidia, or the modding community—will be required to raise the game's average frame rate.
However, Starfield functions well on PC and is appealing to a broader audience due to its extensive content offering. Get the most recent Nvidia driver update for Resizable BAR support to enhance Starfield PC performance—a 5% average performance boost is still something. Check out our review of Starfield as well. Despite some optimization flaws, this science fiction RPG is still fantastic.
