In Elden Ring, General Radahn, sometimes known as Starscourge Radahn, is a prominent boss. He is a Shardbearer that has transformed into a hybrid of a man and a beast, while having some similarities to Magnus the Red from Warhammer 40K. To assist you in taking down Starscourge Radahn, the ruler of Redmane Castle in Caelid, here is our Elden Ring boss guide.

Prior to delving into the specifics of our Elden Ring Starscourge Radahn guide, allow me to recommend the standard strategy for overworld bosses: mounted bow while using Torrent. Yes, even though it's blocked off, the Radahn boss encounter takes place in an overworld location. Now, I discovered that shooting from a distance is less stressful than confronting our opponent in melee, even if he is undoubtedly less readily cheesed than other hostiles.
Either way, I'll presume that you already own the Arrow's Reach Talisman and a ranged weapon. Proceed to the southeast region of Caelid if such is the case. The Impassable Greatbridge Site of Grace is what we're searching for. There is a siege tower next to it. Just melee the other soldier and shoot the one who is pushing you off as you get up. The Arrow's String Talisman may be obtained from the chest after you've reached the summit. This makes your bolts and arrows more powerful. You may interact with the teleporter in front of the bridge (there's another one at the other end, although it leads to the same spot) if you have both equipped. You will find yourself at Elden Ring, within Redmane Castle, Starscourge Radahn's realm. You will encounter well-known characters like Alexander the Living Jar and Blaidd the Half-Wolf there. The lady is also able to give you the Polite Bow emote. Though I'm not certain, I believe it to be Millicent from the Sellia's Secret quest.Regardless, the herald will summon everyone to announce that the Radahn Festival is about to begin. Tell this NPC that you're prepared when you speak with him. There will be a brief cutscene that tells you about Radahn's history and present situation.Next, look for an elevator in the rear of the church. You will reach the shore and notice a gateway and a Stake of Marika there.Phase 1 of the Starscourge Radahn boss battle is located in Elden Ring.Starscourge Radahn will start shooting you with Void Beams as soon as you spawn in. When one of them is ready to strike you, attempt to dodge-roll. They hit really hard. Because your horse lacks the iframes necessary to evade these missiles, do not employ Torrent just yet. But, you may employ the obstructions—like poles and wooden barricades—to stop the bullets.Similarly, you'll see that glowing indicators are present throughout the area. You may use them to call forth the previous friendly NPCs. It may be feasible to divert Radahn with the whole group of them because I've been informed that they may be called again even in the event of their death. Sadly, I was unable to give it a try.You only want to run ahead and dodge-roll as needed, since you don't want to utilize Torrent just yet. Radahn will begin to unleash his Arrow Rain and Arrow Spread spells when you are just a few meters away. Use Torrent at this point to prevent being hurt. Then, when you're very near, this will start Radahn's melee battle sequence. He will begin performing his melee combinations and cease firing Void Beams and Arrow Rains at you.Phase 1.5 of the Starscourge Radahn boss battle in Elden RingYou may ride away from Radahn and shoot sideways if you concentrate on mounted archery like I advised (that is, lock on and execute regular shots rather than focused ones). You'll soon have reduced Radahn's health to around 75%. Phase 1.5 will see him acquire further skills:Elden Ring
- Gravity Well – Radahn will cast an AoE that will pull you in.
- Void Trail – After his combo chain, he’ll unleash projectiles that travel along the ground. These will split up before dissipating, so you can still avoid them.
- Void Barrage – Multiple orbs will be fired to your location. I treated these as though I was fighting Erdtree Avatars/Putrid Avatars and the Glintstone Dragon. I shot the boss while he was casting, then I galloped to the side as soon as the projectiles were flying outward.
- Meteor Crash – He’ll disappear from the battleground, only to smash down in a ball of fire. Keep galloping to avoid this.
- Void Skulls – Four skulls will surround Radahn. If you’re far away, they’ll just float there before he flings them at you (this will take a while though).
- Requirement – STR 22 and DEX 18.
- Scaling – STR D and DEX D.
- Requirement – STR 38, DEX 12, and INT 15.
- Scaling – STR D, DEX D, and INT E.
- You can talk to the herald back in Redmane Castle. The doors that were locked previously are now open. If you pass through the plaza going outside, there’s a boss encounter once you return. You’ll be up against a Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight. You can also pick up lots of loot here as you explore.
- If you exhaust all of the herald’s dialogue, he will say that his task is done. However, this is a hidden trigger that lets you meet Executioner Jerren as part of Sorceress Sellen’s quest. This is also the only way for you to proceed further to reach the conclusion of that arc.
- Radahn’s Great Rune isn’t empowered yet. You can go to the Divine Tower of Caelid to activate it (the location even has two huge jumping puzzles and another boss).
- The meteor that crashed leads to a secret area known as Nokron Eternal City. There, you can acquire one of the best Spirit Ash summons in the game. One of the dungeons is also part of another lengthy personal quest, with a passageway that leads to an additional secret area/ending requirement.
