Several Erdtree Avatars and Putrid Avatars may be found in Elden Ring. With their destructive strikes, these overworld titans defend the majority of the lesser Erdtrees in the Lands Between. Luckily, we can turn these interactions into cheese. This is our Elden Ring guide to assist you in defeating the Putrid and Erdtree Avatars.

A tutorial explaining how to defeat Erdtree and Putrid avatars in Elden Ring

Except in a few places, an Erdtree Avatar or a Putrid Avatar (the one in Caelid) will always be defending the Minor Erdtrees in Elden Ring. They often possess comparable skills:

  • Melee – They’ll attack with their staves or blades, oftentimes killing Torrent if you’re mounted. The Putrid Avatar’s melee, as far as I know, is a one-hit kill even with 800+ HP.
  • Blades of Light – They’ll periodically cast a spell that spawns multiple Holy projectiles that home in on your location. Getting hit by one will likely get you damaged by everything else that’s flying your way due to the animation. It’s also possible for the bosses to cast two of these spells in succession.

In Elden Ring, how precisely do we kill the bosses Erdtree Avatar and Putrid Avatar? We're simply going to cheese, just like the Tree Sentinel, Flying Dragon Agheel, Glintstone Dragon, and Magma Wyrm Makar. Verify that you have found a ranged weapon and that you have a enough supply of bolts and arrows.

Essentially, you should saddle Torrent and prepare your bow. Simply turn on lock-on and keep firing if the boss is further away. Disengage lock-on and flee if they rush at you.

Imagine supposing they used Blades of Light. This is the enjoyable part. This is due to the fact that Torrent moves horizontally while the missiles move faster as they approach you. In other words, if you see the casting animation, turn on lock-on and continue shooting the monster while you sidestep.

You may shoot six arrows at once while the casting animation is playing, as the picture below illustrates. Just remember that the monster will generally quickly do its melee lunge, so be careful to disengage and flee.

Conquering Putrid and Erdtree Avatars in Elden Ring tears used to mix the Flask of Wonderful Physick together. With this kind of potion, you may mix spells that temporarily provide FP without costing any FP with other benefits, such increased stamina and poise or HP regeneration. See our Flask of Wonderful Physick and Tear combos guide for further information.

Take note: Erdtrees is guarded by two more kinds of overworld bosses, like as ones found in Mount Gelmir and the Altus Plateau. We cover them in different guides. They are the Ulcerated Tree Spirit and Wormface.
