Fans of BG3 rejoice—Patch 7 finally brings official mod support! In a community update, Larian Studios said that Baldur's Gate 3 would soon get official mod support. However, in the meantime, a closed alpha and beta will be available. Here's how to register to take part.
How to register for the closed alpha and beta testing of Baldur's Gate 3 official mod support
Patch 7 for Baldur's Gate 3 will be out in September and will include official mod support for both PC and console versions. However, Larian Studios is allowing players to try out the official mod software in a limited alpha and beta before this happens. You will have the opportunity to register for the closed beta in July, but you will not be allowed to join up for the closed alpha, which started on June 3.Larian Studios welcomed mod creators to participate in the closed alpha on June 3, which marked the beginning of the two testing stages of the official BG3 mod support program. More mod writers will be encouraged to try it out at this time by creating and transferring existing mods using the BG3 toolkit. You will not be allowed to access the closed alpha unless you are a maker of BG3 mods.
Larian Studios will open registration for the closed beta in July, during the second phase, with a ceiling of about 1,000 people. This is a sign-up form for PC players of Battlefield 3 to test the modifications developed during the alpha phase. Keep a watch out for a future community post in July, when you can probably expect to see a registration link.
Patch 7 will then be made available in September along with official mod support via the mod.io program. Console users will also be able to test out modifications thanks to this application, which will enable modding to support all platforms that BG3 can operate on.
PC users will have access to mod.io first, followed soon after by Mac users and console users (PlayStation and Xbox). Console gamers may now download amazing modifications, like the many character creation mods that are currently out there.
