Both the Hero and the Vagabond possess a shield and 1H weaponry. The Vagabond has a higher DEX but a lower STR. For the Hero, the opposite is true. In case you want to construct a complete STR build, the Hero would be a better choice.

Warrior and Samurai are dexterity-based

Though the Samurai has the highest starting DEX of any class in Elden Ring, the stat lines of the Warrior and Samurai are pretty comparable. Unfortunately, the Warrior has a lower STR, so if some weapons demand that stat, you'll need to put in a little more work. In contrast, the Samurai begins with a ranged weapon.
