Elden Ring

tutorial - How to use Spirit Tuning with Roderika to improve Spirit Ash Summons

Receiving Renna's Spirit Calling Bell

To be clear, in Elden Ring, there are two crucial NPCs if you want to enhance Spirit Ash Summons. Renna, the witch, is the first since it is she who gives you the Spirit Calling Bell. After receiving Torrent from Melina, you will get this. Just go back to the Elleh Church Site of Grace at night and have a conversation with Renna there. She will even offer you your first summoning item, the Lone Wolf Ashes.

Entering Stormhill Shack and meeting Roderika

As we indicated in our Limgrave walkthrough, you'll reach Stormhill Shack just beyond that point. This is the residence of Roderika, a more significant NPC in Elden Ring if you want to enhance Spirit Ash Summons.

When you finish all of Roderika's speech, she should grant you the summon for Spirit Jellyfish Ashes. If not, she'll give it to you when you next see her.

Roundtable Hold Meeting with Roderika

When you return to Stormhill Shack after defeating Margit the Fell Omen and Godrick the Grafted, you'll find that Roderika has vanished, but you may still find a Golden Seed.

However, if you return to Roundtable Hold, you'll find her standing by the hearth. Roderika will be living in Roundtable Hold during this time. It's possible to finish her personal goal, albeit the prerequisite is really concealed. Prior to anything else, be sure to use every conversation option available to Roderika and, if at all feasible, speak with Smithing Master Hewg.

How to Get the Chrysalids' Relic

Next, you have to locate the Chrysalids’ Memento, which is a crucial artifact, in Stormveil Castle. You may utilize the Rampart Tower Site of Grace if you haven't already.

Leap down to the church and run along the ramparts. Proceed to the Audience Hall's second level, which is where you met the Grafted Scion.

Next, as you approach the corridor leading to the library, you might descend to your left to discover a mass of dead under a hanging troll. Take out the Chrysalids' Memento from the pile by defeating the Stray Dogs here.

Take note: I was also able to locate a Crimson Hood here much later in the game, and it resembles the cloak that Roderika originally wore.

In Elden Ring, you may upgrade your Spirit Ash Summons via Spirit Tuning ().Show Roderika the Chrysalids' Memento when you get back. After that, go on conversing with her and Smithing Master Hewg. When you speak with Roderika, she will eventually offer to let you use the Spirit Tuning feature in Elden Ring to enhance your Spirit Ash Summons. This is how it operates:

  • Regular Ashes (i.e., generic summoned mobs), such as the Lone Wolf, Warhawk, Wandering Noble, Marionette Soldier, and the like, all use Grave Glovewort.
  • Special Ashes (i.e., named mobs), such as Banished Knight Oleg and Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff, require Ghost Glovewort.
Items in Elden Ring such as Grave Glovewort and Ghost Glovewort are often found in catacomb/crypt-type dungeons. Whereas the latter has purple flowers, the former is a green plant with white petals. They also have their own levels, such as Grave Glovewort [1], Grave Glovewort [2], and so on, much like Smithing Stones and Golden Runes. To gather a large amount of these plants, you need ideally go through these gloomy dungeons in the game environment. Finally, the greatest option available to you is to choose the Spirit Ash Summons that you really want, since they do not respawn.
Steam offers Elden Ring for purchase. Visit our guides and features hub for further details.
