A few months have passed since QuakeCon 2021 saw the unveiling of Doom Eternal's most recent Horde Mode expansion. The previously announced Invasion Mode—which would have allowed users to spawn as demons within other players' campaigns—was replaced with the announcement of the highly anticipated Horde Mode. It's absurd to believe that during QuakeCon 2018, Invasion Mode was first mentioned. To be honest, it seems like ages ago. With Horde Mode arriving on October 26, it seems like you won't be needing to wait more than a few days to slay, chop, and tear waves of opponents in Doom Eternal.
A clip for the new mode was just uploaded to the Bethesda YouTube page, revealing the release date. Still, there isn't a lot of further information available right now. The task of eliminating demon waves is not the only thing in store for the next update. All of this is included in the 6.66 Update, which also adds two new Master Levels and "enhancements" to the 2v1 Battlemode, which pits two demons against a Slayer. In Battlemode, the demon that best demonstrates their superiority over the other players in a best-of-five format wins.
