Destiny 2: Bungie Layoffs Cause the Final Shape to Be Delayed

The Last Form: Destiny 2 has been hailed as the conclusion to the story of light vs evil that has been unfolding in the universe since the game's launch.

But according to news from Bungie, gamers will have to wait a little while longer to experience the expansion.

Bungie Layoffs Impact The Final Shape of Destiny 2's Release Date

All of Bungie's labor over the years culminates in The Final Shape, which is likely to pave the way for a brand-new Destiny project known as Destiny 3.

Fans of the series are eager to see the climax of the narrative with Cayde-6's reappearance in the new DLC, however the originally scheduled release date of February 2024 has been altered due to unfavorable news inside Bungie.

According to Bloomberg, the business has now let go of a sizable section of its workers, which includes employees from many different departments inside PlayStation. The Final Shape's release schedule has been impacted by this and has been pushed back to an undisclosed date in June 2024.

Regarding the layoffs and the sudden postponement of The Final Shape and Marathon, their other confirmed upcoming release, Bungie has remained silent. This is hardly surprising, however, considering the magnitude of the layoffs and their effect on the gaming sector this year.
