The Nvidia RTX 4080 Super is undoubtedly something you'll be considering if you're trying to decide which of the new RT 40 series graphics cards to upgrade to. Is the new Nvidia GPU worth the price as a straight upgrade to the RTX 4080 and a less expensive choice to the RTX 4090?

Results of the RTX 4080 Super benchmark

There isn't much of a difference between the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super and its normal 4080 predecessor, according to many benchmark tests. This is not good news for its more costly equivalent.

FPS

During the 1440p Ultra settings stress testing, the FPS counter was within 3 or 4 frames of the RTX 4080. Considering that it costs $200 more and has about the same performance, this effectively kills the RTX 4080. Still, the much more expensive and powerful RTX 4090 leads the race by a wide margin.

When playing Doom Eternal at 1440p, the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super can achieve an astounding 244 frames per second at Nightmare settings. Even at 4k Nightmare settings, Doom Eternal managed an incredible frame rate of 170 FPS. For a very long period, this graphics card will not have any trouble keeping your preferred triple-A games running smoothly as butter.

Dynamic power output

We see better power performance overall with the RTX 4080 Super thanks to its upgraded CUDA cores over the standard 4080. Under the AAA gaming load, an average power usage of 290 Watts is observed. This and its original edition are almost identical. A more powerful card that can handle the rigors of contemporary gameplay is produced by this enhanced power consumption and output over the preceding iterations.

Both of the new Nvidia 4080 series of cards need 320W of power. Compared to the 30 series cards from before, this is a little improvement. Make sure you have the power supply to support any new equipment you want to buy.

operating temperature

The card's operating temperature is an indication of quality construction, complete with well-placed hardware and efficient fans. Examining a few of the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super stress tests, the card performs quite well when compared to its competitors. After 30 minutes of constant gaming stress, it reaches an average operating temperature of 66 degrees Celsius, just where we would expect it to.

By no means is the running temperature the coolest in the group. But even with the output given, it's still very amazing.

Reviews of the RTX 4080 Super

Reviews for Nvidia's most recent card in their lineup aren't quite unanimous. Naturally, the card itself has a lot of power. Without a question, Team Green remains the dominant team. However, their reputation has been slightly tarnished by the obvious greed shown in their GPU pricing when compared to rivals. With the debut of this almost exact clone of the RTX 4080, some fans could return only because of the price reduction.

Costing

The price of the RTX 4080 Super has dropped by $200 from its prior model. This brings the pricing much closer to what most were anticipating. Originally retailing at $1000, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is now available for significantly less. The less expensive, but still very strong, Radeon option would have been a far better choice for anybody looking for a GPU in this type of performance range.

NVidia

The RTX 4080 Super is now the best option for anybody searching for a GPU in the medium to higher range thanks to a price reduction that doesn't result in a decrease in performance. For a very long time, the RTX 4080 Super is supposed to provide excellent frames per second at high resolution.

Performance

Nvidia is armed with some really powerful technology. These little things are what continue to put Team Green ahead of the competition. A side-by-side comparison of the Radeon 7900 XTX and Nvidia RTX 4080 Super reveals which card is superior.

Nvidia crams its revolutionary Frame Reconstruction, DLSS, and Ray Tracing technologies into its GPUs. These are the key differentiators that set the Nvidia card lineup apart from the competition. Naturally, other businesses are striving to provide their own solutions for these amazing advantages. But at the moment, Nvidia is unbeatable.

Nvidia
When comparing the RTX 4080 Super's performance to that of its rivals, what truly sticks out is how much less power it uses. All things considered, the 4080 series uses less power than its rivals while offering the same processing capacity. In the short run, they could cost more, but your bills will appreciate it.

RTX 4080 Super Summary

I apologize if you purchased an RTX 4080 for yourself in the last several months. The RTX 4080 Super's introduction has caused a significant decrease in the value of your card. The new card is essentially an exact replica of the old one, but at a reduced cost.

Is the $1000 price tag on the card justified? Perhaps. Naturally, there isn't much competition in the GPU market these days. The only graphics card that really competes with Nvidia's 40 series is the 7900 XTX. The $1000 price tag is inevitable if you want a GPU that can play your favorite games at 4K resolution at breathtakingly high frame rates. But if you don't mind taking a little hit (and I mean, really, slight), then the RTX 4070 series is something to consider. The key is high performance at minimal power consumption. The card has a large output and enormous size, yet it uses little energy. Considering that it is priced similarly to its rivals, it seems like an obvious decision. The RTX 4090 Super is just matching rivals' prices, not dominating the market.
