Ammo Mods are a chance to improve your weapon even further. This pertains to everything that's mentioned in Field Upgrades. Not all of the five Ammo Mods are helpful. Still, you need to give them all a try, just in case. Which one will become your favorite is a mystery.

Before continuing, note that Zombies is still not available as of this writing. Thus, it's possible that the modifications act in a manner reminiscent to past Call of Duty games. The majority of these might change once the entire game is out. We'll update this article when it does and if the modifications have changed.
- Dead Wire – Electrocutes a zombie and causes damage to any zombie nearby: AoE attacks are important in Zombies. Dead Wire can help keep the pressure low making a group of zombies stop moving. Sounds great, right? Well, the reason I have it so low on the list is that the damage output just doesn’t stack up against some other AoE mods.
- Cryo Freeze – Freezes a zombie and once you kill it, the blast might freeze other zombies: If you can control the the zombies coming toward the group, you might have an easier time dealing with the oncoming waves. Plus, as mentioned, if you destroy the frozen zombie, it could cause a blast that freezes anything else nearby. Use this on the more difficult enemies.
- Shatter Blast – The attributes of this mod are unknown, but according to our own guide, it could be a concussive blast that deals a high amount of damage and pushes zombies back: If that theory is true, crowd control could be easy to do. Just aim at a zombie and watch it fly back, taking out other zombies along the way. Like Dead Wire, it could help counter attacks as well.
- Napalm Blast – Fire explodes and causes fire damage to the surrounding area including zombies: Rather than focusing on the zombies themselves, Napalm Blast can create areas where you’d want to push zombies into. You can use it directly on zombies, but to get the most out of it, I’d say shoot into areas with a large number of zombies to create a blazing inferno.
- Brain Rot – Turns enemy zombies into friendlies that start attacking for you: Having this mod might make things much easier. If you’re flying solo, you’ve now got some zombie pals helping you out. If you’re in a group, you just gained a new putrid comrade. If the enemy zombies attack the friendly one, you can divert your attention to the challenges or missions.
