Perhaps Treasure will reveal a new Radiant Silvergun soon.

As you may recall, to celebrate its 30th anniversary, renowned game developer Treasure hinted to the existence of a new game project a few months ago. Since the company hasn't released a game since 2014, the thought of experiencing a new one from them was quite thrilling. Treasure has not yet revealed any specifics about this new endeavor. But we could finally know what IP the game is part of, owing to an alleged leak discovered on publisher Happinet's Tokyo Game Show 2022 website. This leak, which Gematsu discovered, implies that Treasure is developing a new Radiant Silvergun project.

The only genuine information regarding the game that has been discovered so far from Happinet's new website is the logo that is seen above. We'll have to wait until this month's Tokyo Game Show to find out whether this new project is a remake, remaster, reboot, or sequel to the original Radiant Silvergun.

Radiant Silvergun: What is it?

If you're not acquainted with Radiant Silvergun, it's a vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up with a score system based on eliminating foes in precise orders based on their color. In 1998, it was released just in Japan for the Sega Saturn and arcades. However, in 2011, it was ported to the Xbox 360 for international play. While Ikaruga is more well-known to most players, Radiant Silvergun's spiritual successor, Silvergun, is also worth checking out.Like Treasure's earlier games, it garnered equal levels of acclaim and a loyal cult following.

If Treasure is indeed releasing a true follow-up to Radiant Silvergun instead of just a simple rerelease, that would be much more interesting. Still, it's lucky that Treasure has anything to say at all after such an extended radio blackout. Hopefully, everything will go well for Treasure's next project's announcement and eventual release.
