Despite generating a surprising amount of expectation and attention before to its release, the initial buzz around Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl eventually subsided. Though opinions on the game were quite different, voice acting, or the absence of it, was a popular issue. Players were nonetheless uncomfortable with the lack of such a feature, despite the game's modest budget making its absence reasonable. For many, the game's spirit was completely sapped when they saw these nostalgic, childhood favorites unable to utter so much as a grunt, much alone a full line. Thankfully, voice acting has finally been added to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl thanks to a free patch just published by developer Ludosity.

A list of the voice actors that contributed their talents to this new patch was revealed by the official Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Twitter account in conjunction with this release. Though it makes sense that they were unable to convince everyone to support them, the creators were still able to retain a few of the original voice actors for these well-known characters. A brief sample of the new patch offers a striking difference to the previous version. The recently added voices significantly enhance the previously empty soundscape.

What else is included in the patch?

Along with the new voices, the patch includes a number of Smash Bros.-like objects that should give the main gameplay some much-needed variation. Prior to the patch, it might be argued that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl catered a little too much to those that were competitive. Casual gamers who like platform fights for their mayhem over their technical depth might find the new items appealing.

It remains to be seen whether the excitement around Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be rekindled by this new voice acting patch. Players will, however, at the very least, be somewhat more likely to like the game even if it doesn't.
