Update 1.47 Open Beta for US and EU Truck Simulator 2 is now available.

Version 1.47 of SCS Software's

Version 1.47 of SCS Software's American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 are no longer available in open beta. While many of the updates' new features and enhancements are applicable to both games, some unique material was created just for each of these truck simulations.

1.47 QOL updates for American and Euro Truck Simulator

are available in Open Beta.

There are many new features that are shared. Random road bumps, a new "world ambient sounds" and direction filter, adaptive cruise control and EB, the option to own your own gas cisterns, and a redesigned career history user interface are all new features included to the games.

It is said that the player won't be able to see the "procedurally generated" random road bumps. Nevertheless, you will be able to feel and hear them when they impact your vehicle; they will sound a lot like the random pot hole you wish you hadn't noticed (we've all been there).

Driving assists are the opposite of driving risks. It's nice that trucks now come equipped with an emergency braking system and adaptive cruise control. It enables your truck to alter its speed and distance automatically based on the car in front of it. When the EBS detects an imminent frontal collision, it will also turn on to either prevent the accident or at the very least reduce the amount of damage.

Now that gas cisterns are available as ownable trailers, players have access to 50 interchangeable accessory options in addition to five distinct chassis types.

With regard to audio improvements, SCS has updated its relatively new FMOD support in American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. Players may now hear distinct sounds at varying distances thanks to the new improvements in the update 1.47 Open Beta, which also produce additional "points" in the sound environment.

One instance cited is the possibility of hearing crickets chirping at various distances when you're relaxing at a truck stop in Texas. Together with the camera system in the sim, these new improvements also improve the sound of your truck's engine. The direction in which your vehicle faces the camera will affect the sound it produces. SCS has updated their video to accurately illustrate each of these modifications.

The updated career history menu UI layout will provide greater context for all of your achievements in your loaded save game, catering to the needs of completionists. This comprises several more data points in addition to numbers like the quantity of vehicles you have owned, the number of cities you have found, the total number of deliveries you have made, and the overall gameplay (and real-time) accumulation.

Players may now choose where they want to be routed if the game senses that a reset is required—this is a minor but really useful QOL upgrade. In the past, this would always be the location of the player headquarters. Players may now choose whether or not they want to be transported to a service station they find.

Single upgrades

Update 1.47 includes certain additions that are unique to the game. For American Truck Simulator, however, the sole change is the inclusion of unique city intros in the map expansions for Utah and Idaho (when beginning a new game in a city for the first time). Euro Truck Simulator 2 receives a much larger, unique improvement with the redesign of its Germany scenery. This offers newly constructed plans for Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Nurnberg, and Erfurt. Like its American counterpart, the Road to Black Sea DLC has new creative city intros.

The entire version of update 1.47 is not yet scheduled for release. You may access each beta in the interim by right-clicking on the relevant game title in your Steam client, choosing "Properties" from the drop-down menu, then choosing the "Betas" option.
