Of all the new games I believe should be given the ray tracing treatment, Doom Eternal ranks quite highly on my list. The shooter with idTech power is already visually stunning. But with all of those lighting effects, it almost seemed like ray tracing was unnecessary. Fortunately, the Doom Marine will soon be compared to its RTX counterparts. After Nvidia unveiled the 3080 Ti earlier today, it was announced that DLSS and Vulkan ray tracing would soon be available for Doom Eternal. Additionally, the business said that DLSS would be coming to other titles, including Red Dead Redemption 2.
Although Doom Eternal has always had excellent visuals, ray tracing enhances its visual appeal. A first trailer that included real-time reflections of each shot, explosion, and flying demon piece was released with the revelation. After seeing the teaser, the outcomes are truly rather amazing. The freshly released RTX 3080 Ti, which was playing the game in 4K, captured it. Approximately 90–125 frames per second were being produced by the GPU, depending on the overlay. I believe that much of the video, if not all of it, was displayed without DLSS enabled. Even in the busiest of conflicts, the game continued to function well.
Granted, DLSS wasn't probably in the greatest demand since the idTech engine is so highly tuned. Nonetheless, the feature ought to be quite welcome for users of RTX cards at the lower end of the range, such a 2060 or 2070.
It seems better in motion, I guess. For your viewing enjoyment, 1440p and 4K choices are available.
Demon slayers and cowboys
There is no set release date for the ray tracing and DLSS upgrade for Doom Eternal. Nvidia did, however, confirm that it would launch later this month. We'll save our tingling trigger fingers heated for the moment.
Several additional titles, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, were confirmed for DLSS upgrades. And not many other games come to mind that need it more. The vastness and intricate detail of Rockstar's cowboy epic ultimately taxed many GPUs, even the more powerful ones. Nvidia has only said that DLSS would be available "soon," without providing an exact release date for the game. DLSS, ray tracing, or both will soon be added to the following games: Red Dead, Rainbow Six Siege, Icarus, Lego Builder’s Journey, Dying: 1983, The Ascent, and The Persistence will all get updates.
